This event is part of the Time Salon series. The Time Salon is a facilitated gathering offered by The Kola Nut Collaborative which guides participants through dialogue and practice in communal asset mapping, social economy, and non-monetary exchange. In this intentional space, we challenge the idea that participation in a framework of economic exchange necessitates the use of the dollar as currency.

Theme: Our Social Economies: A Community Peace Circle on Value and Values

While peace circles have recently been used as a locus of restorative justice practice, they are an expansive space where all manner of values can be interrogated and revised through shared dialogue. In the talking circle, communities have a safe space where circle practice and conversation are used to cultivate relationships grounded in shared values.

During this circle, we will unpack the nature of value itself and what relationship this bears on the values we bring to our communities. Join us with the questions you have been asking within your own life or use the questions others are asking to investigate your own beliefs.
