Library Society Winter Reception for Concrete Poetry, Concrete Book

Opening Thursday, January 19th, from 5PM - 8PM

Join the University of Chicago Library Society to celebrate the Special Collections Research Center exhibit “Concrete Poetry, Concrete Book: Artists’ Books in German-speaking Space after 1945.” Following an exhibit viewing, Christine Mehring, Chair and Professor of the Department of Art History, will present a lecture on highlights of the exhibit. A “Soundscape” inspired by select scores from items in the exhibit will be performed in collaboration with the Department of Music. A wine and cheese reception will follow the lecture and performance.
