In treatments, Rappaport reflects on his partner’s cancer journey through clinical spaces while challenging the conventional use of art in healthcare settings, where images are often chosen to provide superficial comfort. By reimagining these works through photo and video installations, he proposes a new way of thinking about art’s role in these environments—not as a passive backdrop but as a means to engage with the emotional realities of patients and their families.

Rappaport’s work has been exhibited in the United States and internationally in museums, galleries, film festivals, and public spaces. Recent projects have been featured during EXPO Chicago, the Chicago Architecture Biennial in 2019 and 2017, Anniversary of the Jewish Ghetto in Venice, Italy, and 2018 Ann Arbor Film Festival and performances with the Range Mobile Lab at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Block Museum at Northwestern University.

Gallery Instagram: @carlson_tower_gallery
Hours: M-F, 9AM-9PM

Located on the campus of North Park University at the corner of Foster and Kedzie.
