The event brings women from different art backgrounds together to interact in a shared studio space.</p> <p>Participants: all artists identifying as female and all 2-dimensional mediums. Featuring Angelina Diana, Janice Elkins, Jane Erlandson, Tia Etu, Carol Friedle, Laura Garza Jimenez, Cherylyn Gnadt, Laura Jurdahl, Anne Kelly, Jessica Kronika, Naomi Liechty, Peggy Lipschuts, Marcia Palazzolo, Roberta Raymond, Sarah Royer, Elaine R. Schill, Janet Schill, Anna Varela, Grace Barraza-Vega, and Denise Verret<br /> Judge: Liz Born, Hoofprint Studio, Chicago</p> <p>About our Judge:<br /> Liz Born is a Chicago-based artist. Working primarily in relief and lithography, she illustrates the communion between animals and human-animals. Liz has taught relief, screenprinting, and intaglio at Spudnik Press, The Hyde Park Art Center, and Marwen. Her work has been featured at venues including Heaven Gallery, Woman-Made, and the Jane Addams Hull House Museum.</p> <p>About the Third Friday Discussion:<br /> Dima Ali of Turquoise and Gold, LLC is Iraqi-American Artist, Mother and Community Activist. Dima was born and raised in Baghdad/ Iraq. She immigrated to the US more than 15 years ago. Dima’s Art is a reflection of the rich and colorful culture she grew up in and influenced by her Middle Eastern background.</p> <p>Being an immigrant herself, Dima cares deeply about immigration and refugees issues.
