pinkapocalypse: cute dream & a pinch of zine is a gallery showcase of work by students in Thomas Comerford’s Punk/DIY Methods in Production class at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. In studying models of cultural production, exhibition, organizing and community building, the participants have developed their own practices and collaborated on this exhibition. The work will include drawings, print media, video, and performances, as well as zines and other student-made merchandise for sale. The show runs from May 3rd to 5th in the coach house gallery at the Glessner House Museum at 1800 South Prairie Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60616, 312-326-1480. Opening night will have a time-based arts event that includes performances and single-channel video. The show will run through the weekend, with a recurrence of the time-based arts event on the closing afternoon. The show and events are free and open to the public, and the gallery is ADA accessible.
