With mega-mergers and fewer options for Internet access, we’re being forced into paying higher prices for slower speeds. Internet service providers can now legally prioritize their own services, filter websites, and spy on our traffic.
But fear not! People like Diana Nucera are working with communities to build their own networks and create their own ISPs. Join us for conversation about her experiences in rallying communities to build their own infrastructure with neighborhood values at their core.

Diana Nucera is the director of the Detroit Community Technology Project. Her work focuses on developing popular education materials that empower communities to use media and technology to investigate, illuminate, and develop visionary solutions to challenges.
Data Rules Everything Around Me (D.R.E.A.M.) is a FREE & OPEN conversation series facilitated by Nick Briz & Jon Satrom. Artists, writers, developers, and other cultural producers discuss their research and perspectives on the data that fuels the systems that run our world.
