A Celebration: The Ebony Fashion Fair

Join us for a celebration of Ebony Fashion Fair at the Stony Island Arts Bank on Friday, September 28 at 6 p.m. We’ll exhibit gowns and posters from the annual fashion event launched in 1958 by Eunice Johnson, co-founder of Johnson Publishing Company, and demo the iconic cosmetics line that the show inspired.
Following the exhibtion, stick around for a special OUTDOOR screening of Mahogany (PG). In this lush 1975 romantic drama, Diana Ross plays Tracy Chambers, a struggling fashion student whose world transforms when she enters the fashion industry.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and enjoy the glory that is Diana Ross projected on the side of the Stony Island Arts Bank. Light refreshments will be served, or bring your own picnic-style. Showtime will begin exactly at 7:45 p.m.
