FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There are no age requirements. However, please be aware that some of the recreational activities may require a guardian to sign a waiver prior to the child’s participation. Therefore minors must be accompanied by an adult.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
WHAT:
AccessChicago, a one-day expo for people with disabilities, will be providing a free shuttle service by way of two 12-passenger, accessible, Pace buses running in tandem from the front of the Pier to Entrance 2, then from Entrance 2 to the front of the Pier. Please note: because we’ve moved from Festival Hall A to Festival Hall B this year, Entrance 2 is the closest and most accessible entry point to AccessChicago.
WHERE:
AccessChicago is held at Navy Pier, 600 East Grand Avenue, Festival Hall B. Our guests can pick up this shuttle at the front of the Pier where the Navy Pier Trolley station is located on East Grand Avenue. The Navy Pier Trolley station is located kiddy corner from the CTA bus station. Please look for Pace buses that have signage that reads: “AccessChicago shuttle”.
WHEN:
AccessChicago is from 9:00am-4:00pm on Thursday, July 19th. During the two peak hours of 8:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-3:30pm, this shuttle will run on demand. From 9:30am-2:30pm, this shuttle will run in tandem every 15-20 minutes.
If you choose to drive, parking is available in the East garage, which is the garage closest to our event. You would follow the street on the North Side of the pier (this is the street that stations the CTA bus stop and shuttle service) until you see the signage for the East garage.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
