ON June 23, history will turn back more than 33 years for an intimate look into the liVeS of THE WORLD’S FIRST KNOWN SPECIES TO EVOLVE DISCRETE SELVES THROUGH SELF-EVOLUTION, when the MUSEUM OF THE MELS opens at WEDGE PROJECTS. YOU ARE receivING AN invitation to THE OPENING on Saturday evening, June 23.
The carpenters, electricians, and painters will soon complete their work IN WEDGE PROJECTS, which has been completely remodeled for the MUSEUM OF THE MELS under plans drawn up by MELGA BLANK, SELF-EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST AND DISCOVERER of THE MELS, and MEL KEISER, ARTIST AND CURRENT LIVING MEMBER OF THE MELS SPECIES. Lighting, suspended from the ceiling, will illuminate the MUSEUM and emphasize the exquisite craftsmanship and delicate artistic style of the jewel-like objects. An example IS the SPECIMEN BOXES, of INK AND PAPER, on which incised groupings of MELS form an interlacing pattern. Also of interest to art lovers will be the PAPER figurines of the headS of EACH MEL IN THE MELS SPECIES, WITH LIFE-SIZE RECONSTRUCTIONS OF THEIR HAIR, HAND DYED and richly decorated FROM PAPER.
Augmenting the exhibit will be EDITED TEXT from The Field Museum.
THREE CATEGORIES will serve as a STRUCTURE TO SHOW THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN EACH MEMBER OF THE MELS SPECIES: THROUGH THEIR HABITATS, BODY COVERINGS, AND DIET. Probably the most dramatic IS THE BODY COVERINGS DISPLAY, showing the SELF-EVOLUTION OF EACH MEL with its ADEQUATE COLLECTION OF MEL BODY COVERING SPECIMENS. The purpose of the MUSEUM OF THE MELS is to arouse INTEREST IN SELF-EVOLUTION, AS SHOWN BY THE STUDY OF THE MELS, to save SELF-IDENTITY from being destroyed by FULSOME SELF-SAMENESS.
A special attraction of the CLOSING RECEPTION OF THE MUSEUM OF THE MELS will be a lecture in WEDGE PROJECTS on “WHO IS THE MELS? AN INTRODUCTION TO SELF-EVOLUTION AND THE MUSEUM OF THE MELS” by MELGA BLANK, SELF-EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST AND DISCOVERER OF THE MELS SPECIES, AT THE END OF JULY.
General admission to the MUSEUM OF THE MELS will be free. Beginning June 30, the Museum will be open from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday, 6 p.m. to 7 P.M. on the SECOND THURSDAY of the MONTH.
