Please join us on Sunday, April 29th for “This is Not Art” as we engage with our artist community in our Logan Square home for the last time!
The Overlook is not ending, we’re changing and considering where art exists and how communities can form in a broader sense, without borders. We’re thinking about how art can communicate outside the traditional structures of the “art world” by transforming from a physical space to a liminal art model. We continue to uphold our mission to provide a platform for emerging women, queer, and POC artists and to explore collaboration, curation, and communities in ways that are limiting within a singular location. This is Not Art is a celebration of our past AIRs, partnerships, exhibitions, and you! We want your support as we shift our framework to allow for a wider breadth of representation, collectivity, and opportunity.
The event will feature:
-Performances from our current Multitude AIRs
-Performative Readings by local Poets & Writers
-Installation of new works by Hanna Owens
-Raffle of works by past AIRs, exhibited artists, and friends of the Overlook
-Drinks, snacks, and goodies from our generous neighbors
-The best non-art-fundraiser of 2018!
All profits will go towards moving expenses, future residencies, partnerships, pop-up events and exhibitions.
