Leasha Overturf, an award winning Chicago based documentary photographer, will speak about her process and projects, including her longtime position as a producer. Stop by before Dodd closes it’s retail space at 6:30pm to explore and shop before festivities begin!

ARTIST BIO
Leasha Overturf’s photographs explore childhood, teenage relationships, and her immediate family. The Chicago based
documentary photographer uses county fairs, public gathering spaces, and city streets and environments to find and explore her subjects. In addition to her documentary and portrait projects, Leasha has a highly developed interest in the self-portrait and speaks of all her image making as such. The honesty and vulnerability through the images she makes and shares creates a true connection to humanity.
Leasha is a graduate from Southern Illinois University and has been doing photography since the age of 16. Leasha’s work has appeared in various publications as well as exhibited in many venues. One of which is the honor of being part of The Chicago Project with the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago. Her most recent exhibition was a group show at The Highland Park Art Center where she had the opportunity to exhibit two bodies of work. She has been honored with receiving The B/W Spider Award as well as honorable mentions numerous times with the International Lucie Awards.
Leasha is collected nationally and internationally. In addition to her own photography projects Leasha Overturf has
worked with Paul Elledge Photography in all aspects of photographic productions since 1993. The two of them co-teach at the esteemed Santa Fe Photographic Workshops as well as the Toscana Photographic Workshops in Italy.
