Connections
@ Jimmy Beans Coffee
2553 W Fullerton, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Sunday, November 12th, from 11AM - 1PM
How do we express support for each other during a time where the lives of marginalized communities are constantly in transition? Inspired by conversations following the 2016 presidential election, CONNECTIONS creates space for Chicagoans to share stories about issues affecting them and their loved ones.
We invite storytellers from across the city to perform for 10-15 minutes. Following performances, storytellers participate in a discussion with each other and the audience members. If you are interested in performing, contact us at connections.submissions@gmail.com.
Hosted by Jenny Chukwu and Keisa Reynolds, CONNECTIONS takes place every second Sunday from 11am – 1pm at the Beans Gallery located on the second floor of Jimmy Beans Coffee. Also, we will be livestreaming via facebook.
We are extremely happy and honored to have Nire Nah, Anna Wolfe, and Paige Williams performing.
The series has a suggested cover of $3-5. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Sixty percent of the proceeds will go to a community or non-profit organization following each event.
