Firecat Projects presents “From Bits & Pieces,” a two person exhibition featuring the work of Aviva Alter and Marzena Ziejka. Alter’s sculptures come from her obsession with gathering discarded bits of information. As she assembles this material Alter creates her own sense of order. Ziejka paraphrases her feelings and memories into sculptural objects. Behind works of both artists lays same personal motive however while Alter focuses on bodily structure on a cellular level, Ziejka examines non-material aspects of life bringing on anthropomorphic forms.
Following a need to reconnect with parent, analyzing deficiency of life, both artists present works made of found objects, accumulated and meticulously constructed into new forms approaching their inquiry from two different standpoints.
