A predecessor to Badlands and Natural Born Killers, The Sadist is loosely based on the Charles Starkweather killing spree of the late 50’s. Four schoolteachers returning from a Dodgers game come across trouble when their car breaks down. Pulling into a remote wrecking yard, they soon discover the presence of the psychotic Charlie Tibbs (Arch Hall Jr.) and his crazy girlfriend. Also to note, this is the Vilmos Zsigmond’s (Blow Out, The Deer Hunter) first feature as DP!
