“What are the words you do not yet have? What do you need to say? What are the tyrannies you swallow day by day and attempt to make your own, until you will sicken and die of them, still in silence.”
― Audre Lorde, Sister Outsider: Essays and Speeches

Inspired by the feminist and visionary writing of Audre Lorde, June Jordan, Toni Morrison, Octavia Butler, Aurora Levins Morales, Arundhati Roy, and other amazing writers, this Writer Circle is a brave space for writers of all shapes, sizes, genders, abilities, and ages to come, take part in timed free-writing exercises, and share your genius writing (we dare you!) with other nerds, er, WRITERS.

This event is FREE and open to all who come with respect and a commitment to creating a safer space.

“Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness – and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe.”
–Arundhati Roy
