In celebration of National poetry Month, avery r. young & de deacon board pay homage to a poetry/musician/activist Gil Scott Heron. In 1971, Gil Scott Heron released his 1st album on the Flying Dutchman Record label. The album, “Small Talk at 15th and Lenox” featured a bare acoustic version of a people that would make him famous. This poem was “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.” This poem would later be set to music and reintroduce the world to a ,usicain who work very exquisitely teeters the .Ines of personal and political. On Saturday April 15th, Avery r. Young wil, present a series of poems and sound designthat highlight the work of Mr. Heron and original works that showcase how influential Mr. Heron is to Mr. Young and his crew.
