Design, particularly graphic design, is engaged in many ways when activating social movements. Images, branding, signage, and illustration are employed to shape activism, to make it tangible, and to engage constituencies.
On the evening of February 22nd, our panel of diverse thought leaders, activists, and professionals will come together to discuss the importance of graphic design in branding social movements and political activism.
Panelists include:
– George Aye, Co-Founder and Director of Innovation at Greater Good Studio (moderator)
– Ellie Bahrmasel, Co-Founder of RISE Movement and activist at the Chicago Women’s March
– Dawn Xiana Moon, UX/UI Designer, Founder of Raks Geek, and organizer of Artists Against Hate
– Misuzu Schexnider, Associate Program Officer at Generation All, and initiative of the Chicago Community Trust
