Advocacy Through Art
@ Gallery 400
400 S Peoria St, Chicago, IL 60607
Opening Wednesday, December 7th, from 3:30PM - 5PM
On view through Saturday, December 17th
UIC students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members are invited to participate in a series of experimental facilitated dialogues called Advocacy Through Art.
Advocacy Through Art contains two sections: First, participants share a meal and are introduced to facilitated dialogue as a form of experiential learning and knowledge production about social identity. Next, participants will look closely at a series of drawings from Gallery 400’s current exhibition, David Leggett: Black Drawls and practice facilitated dialogue as a methodology for cultivating solidarity, co-creating knowledge, and working towards a more just future.
Hearty refreshments provided. We are committed to an inclusive space, please send any dietary preferences/restrictions and/or accommodation requests to dialogue@uic.edu
The UIC Dialogue Colloquium is a group of students, faculty, administrators, and staff who share an interest in both the theory and practice of facilitated dialogue organized by the UIC Dialogue Initiative.
