We stare at the door, the wall, the window and watch as the tip, then the shaft, penetrate the surface. We witness the pivotal moment when we now see what is in front of us. Nick Mayer was born in 1982 on Long Island. He attended Maryland Institute College of Art from 2000-2004 and received a BFA in Painting. In the summer of 2014, he attended Tyler School of Art’s Summer Painting Intensive under the mentorship of Bruce Pearson, Erica Prince, and Tim Belknap. Nick is currently living and working in New Haven, CT where he is an MFA candidate at the Yale School of Art, Painting & Printmaking ‘17.

His work has been shown nationally at Current Gallery, Baltimore, MD; Butter Projects, Royal Oak, MI; Franklin St, Baltimore, MD; MINT, Columbus, OH; The Ice Box, Philadelphia, PA as well as Green Gallery and Sam’s Space at the Yale School of Art, New Haven, CT.

Luiso Ponce is a self taught visual artist living and working in Guatemala City. His work focuses in drawing and printed media. Ponce’s solo shows include: “IDKFA”, “Futuro Incierto” and “Crimen”. He is also a founding member of Decontrol Studio, a multidisciplinary studio for visual communication and Gente Secreta, a platform for editorial and art publications in Central America.

Antoinette Suiter grew up in Tipp City Ohio, but lived in Baltimore Maryland for a decade before moving to Chicago Illinois. She holds a BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and an MFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). She received the Edward L. Ryerson competitive Fellowship in 2013, and currently teaches at SAIC in the Contemporary Practices and Sculpture departments.

She has shown nationally and internationally, maintaining a consistent show record for the past 15 years. Her work investigates the collision between nostalgic extremes, humor, horror and the uncanny. Her predominantly large-scale installations often contain smaller prop-like components. She hopes to facilitate a moment for the viewer of familiarity and simultaneous strangeness.

Phoebe Wang is a multidisciplinary artist and curator based in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 with a BA in Psychology and completed her thesis in Fine Arts. Phoebe’s work largely explores themes including sexuality, trauma, and religion, as well as her experience as a queer, first-generation Asian American.
