May 21st 2016

On May 21, from 11 am – 1pm, please join artists Lise Haller Baggesen and Aram Han Sifuentes for the workshop, Ad-Dressing Our Clothes, Our Selves, in conjunction with Hatorade Retrograde. For this workshop, Lise and Aram will also be joined by Chiara No–artist, Future Feminist and educator in the Fashion Department at SAIC.

In this workshop, we will learn about the history of our clothes, explore our selves by playing dress up, taking glam selfies, and create fashion tableaus. We will end the workshop with a collaborative fashion show.

This workshop is based on Aram Han Sifuentes’ ongoing project The Artist’s Recipe: Templates, Propositions, Proposals, and Unrealized Projects in the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art and is inspired by records from the Woman’s Building (1970-1992), a non-profit and educational space in LA, which focused on feminist art and on the women’s movement.

For this workshop, please bring an article (or more) of clothing that you never wear but can’t part from, and something that is just awesome. Additional materials will be provided.

Space is limited to 20 participants.
