This February, Maxwell Colette Gallery is pleased to present a visionary group show curated by Ian ‘Hydeon’ Ferguson. The Ballasted Frequencies will feature new artwork from Adrian Landon Brooks, Andrea Joyce Heimer, Angela Fox, Billy Sprague, Brett Flanigan, Cannon Dill, Dima Drjuchin, Gentleman’s Game, Hydeon, Max Kauffman, Randi Drozd, Sentrock, Stacey Rozich, Tina Lugo and Uriel Correa.
Ferguson explains that “ballasted frequencies are heavy cerebral waves of narrative perceptions riding on analogous thought frequencies. These Wave lengths are comprised of deeper visual energy conceived in the hull of the mind’s eye.” The range and depth of work chosen for this thoughtfully selected group exhibition exemplifies these wave lengths as explored by artists from across the United States.
The gallery will host an opening reception for The Ballasted Frequencies on Saturday, February 28th from 6pm – 9pm featuring music from DJ Bobby Burg. Many of the participating artists will be in attendance. The exhibition continues through April 4, 2015.
