The Smart is transformed into a sculpture museum for the fall with Carved, Cast, Crumpled.
This whole-museum exhibition is the first in a series of special projects celebrating the Smart Museum’s 40th anniversary. It is comprised entirely of three-dimensional works and a handful of drawings by sculptors.
Highlights include small-scale sculptures by modern masters, ancient Chinese tomb figures, Old Master bronzes, and boundary-breaking work by contemporary artists from Chicago and beyond.
