An accompanying exhibition to ‘A Study in Midwestern Appropriation,’ Oli Watt is the unsung hero of appropriation. Store receipts, Ace Hardware bags, playing cards, Old Style boxes, or No Parking signs, – everything is fair game for artist Oli Watt to draw from in his print work. In his exhibition, ‘Here Comes A Regular,’ his handmade production of what would normally be mass produced and discarded draws attention to the design and pattern of the packaging materials that surrounds us daily.
