I’d love to celebrate with YOU!
Join me on Saturday, October 17, for an evening of photography, community, connection, and love for the city we call home.
This exhibition is more than a collection of photographs. It’s a celebration of the people, places, and everyday moments that make our neighborhoods special. From Englewood to Austin, these are stories worth seeing, sharing, and remembering.
Love Is on the Green Line: A Love Letter to Chicago is a photography exhibition by Chicago photographer Doni Rochelle-Smith exploring the people, places, and everyday moments that give Chicago’s South and West Side neighborhoods their character.
Structured as a journey along Chicago’s Green Line, the exhibition moves through six neighborhood “stops” which include: Englewood, Woodlawn, Washington Park, Bronzeville, Garfield Park, and Austin. Through portraiture, documentary photography, and community stories, the project celebrates the people who shape these neighborhoods and the connections, resilience, creativity, and love found within them.
More than a collection of photographs, Love Is on the Green Line is a visual love letter to Chicago—one that invites viewers to slow down, look more closely, and experience the city through the people and communities that make it home.
