Gracey’s at Guild Row and The Atmospheric Music Alliance (AMA) are proud to present Drone Rodeo, AMA’s ambient music series featuring intimate, living-room-style performances held in the round.

Jeff Kimmel is a Chicago-based clarinetist, composer and sound artist. His work explores memory, repetition and uncertainty by melding acoustic sounds, analog media and unstable electronic systems in a process that embraces imperfection and transformation.

2025 saw the release of “The other side of the air” — a duo with organist Jack Langdon on Dinzu Artefacts, described as “deeply compelling and tender” (Peter Margasak, Nowhere Street). He has also released and appeared on albums on New Focus Recordings, AKP Recordings, Amalgam, Peira and Orbit 577. His new solo record, “In Plain Sight”, was released on Low Impact Recordings in August of 2026.

Performances include appearances at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Logan Center for the Arts, Hyde Park Art Center, and the Chicago Cultural Center. He has performed throughout the U.S., and appears regularly on improvised music concerts throughout Chicago.

Matthew Mallinger is a Creative Technologist based in Los Angeles CA. His primary mediums are drumming & painting – & his work is influenced by the natural world & the subconscious. Matthew is a self-taught artist, & is an active participant in Deantoni Park’s Technoself School of Philsophy. He released a New solo record this Summer titled ‘Allostate,’ & has been extending his solo work into dance, film & collaborative worlds.
