How much risk can a body bear? How close can we get to the edge before danger turns into something else: exhilaration, disgust, intimacy, spectacle?
The Caliber of Risk brings together artists whose practices test the unstable boundary between control and surrender, attraction and repulsion, safety and peril. Here, risk is not simply something to avoid but something to measure, inhabit, and negotiate. Performance becomes a space where uncertainty is not hypothetical but part of the encounter itself.
Defibrillator gathers Estonia’s Non Grata collective and artists from Chicago for a night of live work by artists who understand risk not as an aesthetic pose but as a condition of making and being present.
Expect bodies pushed beyond comfort. Witness chaos with intent.
Accessibility: This event takes place on the second floor, and the only way up is by stairs. There is no elevator. If you have mobility needs or questions about access, please contact us at getinvolved@DFBRL8R.org before the event. We’ll share details about the space and do our best to help with your visit.
