Witch hats, vampire’s bane, glow-in-the-dark ghost fungus, poisonous Jack-O’-Lanterns, bleeding tooth fungus– whether it’s because they’ve got spooky names, creepy looks, or deadly toxins, there’s a whole world of freaky fungi to celebrate and learn about. Join us for an afternoon of spooky scientific fun. Mycological photographer, Isle Royale National Park fungal survey scientist, and Illinois Mycological Association’s President, Liz Weinstein will give a talk about some of the world’s most monstrous mushrooms and frightful fungi.

Freaky Fungi is a soft preview of a forthcoming Navigations project with Roman Susan. Join us in Edgewater or find the IMA at Park Ridge for some spooky education!
