oin us for the free Production Institute Film Showcase, celebrating the 12 original short films produced by the 2026 Production Institute cohort.
Fellows were selected from a highly competitive pool of talented South Side media makers and underwent 13 weeks of intensive production training to produce and direct their own 5-minute narrative and documentary projects. The development of these projects deepened their artistic capacities, strengthened community connections, and built collaborative relationships across identities and lived experiences.
The film screening is held in person on Sunday, September 13 at 1pm in the Performance Hall at the Logan Center (915 E 60th St).
Event Timeline:
- 1pm: Introductions
- 1:15pm: Film Screenings (~65 minutes)
- 2:20: Moderated Discussion with Filmmakers
- 3pm: Closing Remarks
- 3:15-4pm: Reception in Lobby
Please RSVP so that we have an accurate estimate of attendees for this exciting screening of community stories. An RSVP does not guarantee a seat at the screening, so plan on arriving early to ensure that you will be admitted. Doors open at 12:30pm.

About the Production Institute
The Production Institute, presented in partnership with the Community Film Workshop of Chicago, makes high-quality digital production training accessible to emerging media makers from South Side communities. The aim of the Production Institute is to provide skills enhancement and engage artists in telling stories of the rich culture of their communities and institutions. The Production Institute is a program of the Digital Storytelling Initiative at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts and is supported by the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation.
