Reevah Agarwaal is an artist based in Chicago, IL, born and raised in New Delhi, India. She earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2024. Inspired by the aesthetics and whimsy of girlhood, her work reinterprets childhood photographs, keepsakes, and lived experiences in quilts and collages. She delves into themes of adolescence, coming of age, and matrilineal inheritance by utilizing found and inherited textiles and aims to reframe perceptions of domesticity, womanhood, and identity.
Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and fairs, including Expo Chicago, the Painting Center (NYC), Textile Art Gallery (NYC), FLXST Contemporary (Chicago), and Heaven Gallery (Chicago) amongst others. In 2024, she was awarded the New Futures Award from The Other Art Fair and recently completed a residency at the Chicago Artists Coalition.
