Ed Kashi’s Photos from Too Hot To Work Closing Reception
@ Patient Info
902 N Western Ave, Chicago IL 60622
Opening Saturday, July 11th, from 3PM - 7PM
On view through Saturday, July 11th
Join us for the closing reception of Ed Kashi’s Photos from Too Hot To Work.
In 2022, Ed and a team went on assignment for TIME Magazine to document the brutal impact of heat stress on migrant workers in Qatar ahead of the World Cup. That team followed the flow of laborers from countries like Nepal to Qatar ahead of the World Cup.
Migrant laborers make up 94% of Qatar’s workforce, and thousands have tragically lost their lives to extreme heat over the last decade.
With global temperatures hitting record highs, the human cost of climate change is more relevant than ever.
2022 and 2026 World Cup matches will be screens during open hours and at the closing reception, juxtaposing the celebration of global entertainment with the harsh reality of the labor that built it.
