Yurii Bandera: City and Silence
@ Ukrainian National Museum
2249 W Superior St, Chicago, IL 60612
Opening Friday, July 10th, from 7 PM - 9 PM
On view through Thursday, August 6th
The Ukrainian National Museum is pleased to present “City and Silence,” a solo exhibition by Ukrainian artist Yurii Bandera.
This exhibition explores the dialogue between the energy of urban life and the quiet harmony of nature. Through expressive cityscapes, floral still lifes, and countryside landscapes, Yurii Bandera invites viewers to reflect on the balance between movement and stillness, sound and silence, the external world and inner peace.
The city paintings capture the rhythm of contemporary life — streets, architecture, light, shadows, and the constant movement of everyday moments. In contrast, the floral compositions and natural landscapes create a space for contemplation, revealing the warmth, beauty, and emotional connection found in nature.
“City and Silence” is a visual journey about finding harmony between people and their surroundings — between the dynamic atmosphere of the city and the peaceful beauty of the natural world.
