The Living Canvas Experience

@ Bramble Arts Loft

5545 N Clark St, 2nd Floor, Chicago, IL 60640

Opening Thursday, July 30th, from 6PM - 8PM

On view through Saturday, August 8th

For the first time, there will be an exhibit of decades of Living Canvas photography — the same photography that inspired The Living Canvas performances in the past. The exhibit, with over 100 images, opens on July 30 at Bramble Arts Loft on Clark, running through August 8th.

The Living Canvas celebrates the beauty and expressive power of the human form through performance art and photography, nurturing a sense of body acceptance for performer/collaborator and audience. The Living Canvas started with Pete Guither’s photography of the human form as a canvas for light and projections. It branched out in 2001 to include over a dozen performance shows in Illinois and New York, utilizing the mesmerizing imagery combined with movement, sound, and storytelling.

Note: the photography and performances are a celebration of art and the human body — there is nudity.
