[ HY-MAY ] + KING ART COLLECTIVE are pleased to announce the opening of Six Paintings, an exhibition of new large-scale landscape paintings by Joseph Reich. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at 2401 W. Ohio Street in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. Admission is free and open to the public.
Reich is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Maryland Institute College of Art. For 12 years, he maintained a gallery and studio in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, where this body of work was created. He has since relocated his studio to Red Hook, Brooklyn. Six Paintings is a farewell to Chicago — the city where his practice took root.
Reich creates large-scale landscape paintings grounded in sustained observation and distinguished by the rigorous physical process of their production.
