The Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA) returns to the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild Gallery inside the Elmhurst Art Museum with their Small Works Exhibition, on view May 30–June 26, 2026. Featuring more than 100 works, the exhibition highlights the power and creativity of small-scale contemporary art across a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, fiber, collage, encaustic, and mixed media. Though each piece measures no more than 24 inches, the exhibition offers a rich and expansive viewing experience that invites visitors to slow down and engage closely with the artwork.

Juried by ratist and galleriest Dan Addington and Andrew Sobol, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Art & Design at Elmhurst University, the exhibition showcases artists from Chicago, the surrounding suburbs, including several Elmhurst and DuPage County artists. A free public reception will be held Friday, June 12, from 6–8 p.m. The exhibition also includes interactive artist content through the Vibrant Cast platform, and all artwork is available for purchase.

In addition, CAVA will host a free professional development workshop, “The Importance of Digitally Archiving Artwork: How Giclée Printing Can Enhance Your Art Career,” presented by Adam Brown of Osio-Brown Studios on June 18 from 7–8:30 p.m. RSVP required at events@wearecava.org.
