Malt Adult #33
@ Color Club
4148 N Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60618
Opening Sunday, November 16th, at 7PM
Two half-hour blocks of films are curated with a few artists in attendance. Before the screening, after the show, and during the intermission, call-for-entries loops from the local and international animation community play on the projector. Free programs/zines are available at the door on a first come, first served basis and include behind-the-scenes work from featured animators, an interview with a featured local animator, and selected pieces of comics and writing.
Films include hand-drawn AIR (2025) Anna Firth, the stop motion-smash: A Bird Hit My Window and Now I am a Lesbian (2024) by Carmela Murphy & AJ Dubler, the fully risograph-printed Whereabouts (2025) by Suejee Lee, and many more.
Malt Adult #33 is sponsored by Animation Block Party, which has presented countless community-forward screening events – everywhere from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, London, New Orleans, Boston, and more – since its first inception in 2004.
