Making Friends invites you to ๐๐ถ๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ฃ๐ด, the first of a three-part series of conversations hosted in collaboration with Tala about how to build an ecosystem that empowers artists, and to experiment with new solutions to the challenges of living as artists.
๐๐ถ๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ฃ๐ด is a series of discursive gatherings – a laboratory for co-imagining and designing a not-so distant arts ecosystem. The opposite of a panel discussion or presentation, we invite artists, gallerists, curators, administrators, cultural workers and creatives of all disciplines to come together informally to exchange ideas, challenges and possibilities for the future.
Future Labs will host three distinct themes over the course of the next few months:

Our first lab is ๐ฆ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐ข๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฒ, ๐ฏ-๐ฑ๐ฃ๐ on exchange economies: how can we connect artists to barter and trade with one another at scale? Come share what you would want from this kind of ecosystem, what you would have to offer to it, and build tangible solutions together. Our goal is to design something concrete by the end of each cycle.
