On view through Friday, October 17th
I am excited to invite you to my upcoming exhibition Diagrams / Systems, opening September 12, 2025 at the Chicago Art Department. This exhibition is part of my PhD research in Human-Centered Design where I explore non-hierarchical design pedagogy through co-design workshops, collective diagramming, and community-engaged learning. The project began by asking:
How do artist/designers understand power relations? Are there specific interventions we can create that articulate and challenge the systems that structure our understanding of power, meaning, value, and history? What does it mean to create a collective diagram?
The exhibition features extended meditations on Diagrams, research artifacts, and a design publication documenting the yearlong workshop series. Together, these works invite reflections on how design pedagogy can shift hierarchical instruction toward more equitable, community-based forms of knowledge production.
