Lincoln Park – Exciting new work by Jenny Halpern and @hopefrommanhatten at Art City.

Jenny Halpern’s new body of work, “What Couldn’t Be Said, What Remains, Remembers” explores memory, beauty and mourning through 3-dimensional multimedia representation. She describes her work as, “… keepsakes and devotions made of wax, ribbon and dust; heirlooms that linger, honoring the sacredness of what once was.” Halpern received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Painting and Drawing, holds a BA in Visual and Communication Design from Purdue University, and an Associate’s degree in Fashion Studies from Parsons School of Design.

In Art City’s 2-D wall space, New Gallery, NYC-native, now Chicago-based artist known as @hopefrommanhatten will be exhibiting her new series of realistic representational oil paintings titled, “Silent Exchange.” Here, the artist applies visual psychological and emotional confrontation. She describes this ethos as a, “…wordless encounter that transcends language and culture, tapping into something primal and universal.” @hopefrommanhatten holds a Fine Arts degree with a minor in Art History from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, following earlier studies at PrattMWP.

Both receptions will be held on Friday, June 13, 5-9pm. Art City is located at 1400 N. Halsted Street in Chicago. Free and open to the public.
