2024 Filter Photo Festival Artist Talk: Rahim Fortune

In conjunction with the 2024 Filter Photo Festival, Filter Photo is pleased to present an artist talk with Rahim Fortune, as he gives an exploration of his work and approach to photography. He will also discuss his two publications, I Can’t Stand to See You Cry and Hardtack, both published by Loose Joints.

Rahim Fortune is a visual artist and educator from the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma. He uses photography to ask fundamental questions about American identity. Focusing on the narratives of individual families and communities, he explores shifting geographies of migration and resettlement and the way that these histories are written on the landscapes of Texas and the American South.
