Paper Entomology Display Workshop with Guardabosques
@ Colossal
Online
Opening Saturday, August 26th, from 11AM - 12:30PM
Artists Caro Silvero and Juan Elizalde of Guardabosques join Colossal for a virtual papercraft workshop in creating diverse entomology studies. In this 1.5-hour session, students will use new templates designed specifically for Colossal to cut, layer, and build displays of butterflies, moths, and beetles. Watch three to four insects come to life during the workshop and continue using the skills and templates to add more critters to your collection.
Required materials:
- Nine sheets of paper (160-220 gms) in four different colors, A4 or letter-sized. (Three colors will be used for the insects and one for the background.)
- A printer to print the templates
- All-purpose or white glue
- Sharp scissors and/or X-Acto knife (or similar) for cutting
- A cutting mat or surface
- A ruler
Optional materials:
- A perforation cutter for easier folding
- Tweezers for grabbing small pieces
An email with the templates and Zoom link will be sent prior to the event. All Colossal Workshops are recorded and available for viewing after the live session.
