Celluloid Now: A Showcase of Analog Film
@ Gene Siskel Film Center, Constellation, Chicago Cultural Center
Various locations
Opening Thursday, September 15th, from 7PM - 10PM
On view through Sunday, September 18th
The Chicago Film Society is excited to announce programming for Celluloid Now: four days of screenings, workshops, and other events showcasing the work of analog filmmakers and artists alongside archival rediscoveries and restorations.
For its inaugural Celluloid Now program, the Chicago Film Society will present more than 50 shorts, all on film, by some of our favorite filmmakers, showcasing the breadth of artistic ingenuity found in analog filmmaking today. All programs will be screened in 35mm, 16mm, or super 8 film, with films utilizing multiple projectors, live musical accompaniment, and other non-standard presentations scattered throughout.
Celluloid Now will be hosted at the Gene Siskel Film Center, Constellation, and the Chicago Cultural Center. All Celluloid Now programs at the Cultural Center will be offered for free.
