Bengali Spiritual Songs by Ochin Pakhi

Opening Saturday, May 21st, from 7:30PM - 9PM
An evening celebrating the folk music from West Bengal and Bangladesh, presented by Ochin Pakhi, a young, fun-loving, enthusiastic, and spiritually inclined ensemble of Chicago-based musicians. Accompanied by traditional instruments, the group will be performing songs and poems of the Nobel laureate, poet, and philosopher, Rabindranath Tagore; Bengali philosopher, mystic, songwriter, social reformer, and thinker Fakir Lalon Shah; the national poet of Bangladesh Kaji Nazrul Islam, as well as traditional folk songs of Bengal and several of their own compositions.
