There will be two live, in-person screenings with unique programs on July 10 at Altgeld Gardens and July 11 at Inga Bookshop, as well as an IG Live conversation on July 9 with Berlin-based curator and researcher Caroline Ektander, creator of the Toxic Commons, and a talk by Mexico City-based curator and writer Guillermo Garcia Pérez at 6 PM on his essay, The Transmortal Community, prior to the evening screening at Inga Bookshop in Pilsen.

Caroline Ektander is a Berlin-based curator and cultural researcher, currently pursuing a doctorate at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Her research is concerned with the remediation of industrial legacies and how to better account for the stakes that regularly fall outside the western, capitalistic paradigm. She is co-founder of the interdisciplinary platform Toxic Commons and regularly talks and writes about socio-environmental toxicity across the field of art and academia.

Guillermo Garcia Pérez on The Community of Transmortals
Guilermo Garcia Pérez is a curator and writer based in Mexico City, and creator of the recently launched platform luca.lat for discussions around politics, environment and social struggles. His essay, The Transmortal Community, expands conceptual approximations to issues such as historical accountability, death, community and politics of mourning.
