Betwixt & Between
@ Chicago Artists' Coalition
217 N. Carpenter Street, Chicago, IL 60607
Opening Friday, June 8th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Thursday, June 28th
Chicago Artists’ Coalition is pleased to present BETWIXT & BETWEEN, a solo exhibition featuring work by BOLT Resident Eric Wall that dismantles and re-imagines the possibilities of painting through large freestanding and small-scale works made from collaged fabric. “Betwixt & Between” is best described as a liminal state, a midway position, neither one thing nor the other which is filled with ambiguities and contradictions. The works in this exhibition occupy this middle ground and challenge the historical conceptions of painting. Large freestanding paintings will simultaneously act as objects, sculpture, collage, installation, and decoration as they are successively moved and re-installed within the exhibition space. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 8 from 6-9pm, and the exhibition will run through June 28, 2012.
