Charles Joseph Smith: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony
@ Lucky Pierre
Online
Opening Sunday, October 11th, from 2PM - 3PM
To honor the upcoming 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, Charles Joseph Smith will provide musical and lyrical analysis of Beethoven’s final movement of Symphony no. 9 in D minor, op. 124. The presentation opens with a reading and translation of Schiller’s German text. This part of his symphony—composed while he was totally deaf—represents the climax of Beethoven’s musical life.
