The art of portraiture is one of the most challenging and rewarding exercises for anybody who has ever wielded a pen or a brush. This drawing workshop led by Chicago-based artist and educator Matthew Girson will provide newbies and experienced portraitists with tips and things to consider as we spend an hour together working on a portrait. Prior to the workshop, participants will be provided with information about the art of portraiture.
Materials: a pencil and eraser (or two), a few sheets of paper, and the ambition to bring a new portrait drawing into the world.
