Curator William Tyre will present a fascinating look at life behind the scenes at Glessner House and other Prairie Avenue mansions. Learn what it was like to work as a servant, what tasks would be included in your daily schedule, and the etiquette that was expected when working in a large household during the Gilded Age. The evening will also include the re-release of Mary Alice Molloy’s book “Prairie Avenue Servants,” out of print for over twenty years. Lastly, the restored servant’s bedroom will be dedicated as “Mattie’s Room” in memory of Mary Alice. $15 per person.
