The Witch Project
@ The Den Theatre
1331 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622
Opening Sunday, February 16th, from 7:30PM - 9PM
Join drag queen Wanda for her “one witch show” exploring wicked witches and queer icons in this one-night-only performance.
Combining spoken word, live music, and drag, Wanda works to figure out why the Wicked Witch was her childhood hero and the influence the character has had on her relationships and career. “The Wizard of Oz” created two icons: the Witch and her quarry Judy Garland. Is there room for hero and villain at the end of the rainbow? Which witch is which?
Wanda is a drag performer, musician, and tour guide. She co-founded SADHAUS Drag & Performance Art Collective and directed and produced their productions at Steppenwolf, Metro, The Frontier, and The Den Theatre. She currently produces events and performances at The Poetry Foundation, leads drag tours at the Art Institute of Chicago, and owns Chicago’s first and only drag ghost tour company.
