Baby Blue is excited to present a Works on Paper Show and a Holiday Print Exchange. The show will feature works by Chicago artists: Molly Berkson, Logan Kruidenier, Solomon Salim Moore, and Roland Santana. I wanted to end the year with an exhibition of pieces by friends and also with works on paper which are often humble, personal, and poetic. The gallery will be providing supplies for its guests/artists to mono-print and exchange Secret Santa style with each other. I think many of us would love to collect each other’s work, but don’t get the chance. Hopefully, we can come together before the holidays, drink some pbr, see some great art, and exchange some prints.

Molly Berkson lives and works in Chicago, IL. She has exhibited work at Spudnik Press, where she was a studio fellow in 2017-2018 and currently serves as a teaching artist. She has also shown work at After School Special in Milwaukee WI, Femme4Femme in Chicago as part of 2nd Floor Rear, and at the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY, where she was a studio intern in 2016. Berkson graduated with her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015.

Logan Kruidenier, B. 1993, is a multimedia artist, currently based in Chicago. In 2019 he received an MFA in Printmedia from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been displayed in a variety of spaces, including Mary Gates, Parlor and Ramp, Free Range, The Chicago Publishers Resource Center and JAW Gallery. He is also the creator and host of the “Doodle Jam!”, a free drawing workshop, which has been featured in a variety of venues, such as the Twin Cities Zine Fest, CAKE and Annas Project Space.

Solomon Salim Moore is a visual artist whose work primarily focuses on the different ways fantasy becomes reality. He explores the possibilities and permutations of ballads, folktales, and myths through the mediums of painting, printmaking, and drawing. He currently lives and works in Chicago, IL.

Roland Santana, B. 1995, currently lives and works in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Through his paintings, drawings, and mixed media artworks, we are taken on deconstructed journeys — American landscapes, personal life events and celestial imagery are composed collisions of marks and materials. The vast openness of the canvas gives the viewer a chance to see the paintings as a much bigger part of the surrounding space, colors are transforming, transmuting, unlocking the passage of reality to a dream world.
