Nov 5th 2025

Join us in person for a lecture by artist Jennifer Packer followed by an audience Q&A.

Jennifer Packer creates portraits, interior scenes, and still lifes that suggest a casual intimacy. Packer views her works as the result of an authentic encounter and exchange. The models for her portraitsโ€”commonly friends or family membersโ€”are relaxed and seemingly unaware of the artistโ€™s or viewerโ€™s gaze. Her work was most recently featured in two major solo exhibitions: Jennifer Packer: The Eye Is Not Satisfied With Seeing, presented at Serpentine Galleries and the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Jennifer Packer: Every Shut Eye Ainโ€™t Sleep at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.

Presented in partnership with SAICโ€™s Department of Painting and Drawing
